Out all of my projects, I'm enjoying this one the most. Researching material for my poster was an education in and of itself. I decided to do my poster on the designer George Lepape. My objective for this assignment is to create a poster that defines a part of design history. The poster should feature a designer and movement from a period he/she contributed to and help shape, in addittion, the poster needed to be designed in the style of the artist and movement he represented.
Lepape was a designer in the 1920's-30's. The two techniques this artist represents in his work is influenced by his love and expertise for art deco and art noveau movements. Art deco was a movement in the decorative arts, which emphasized bold geometric forms and simple composition. Art noveau on the other hand is a style of design which was applied to architecture, fashion, graphic design and advertising.
Lepape was born on the Rue Montaigne on May 26, 1887. By the age of eighteen he enrolled in the Ecole des Beaux-Arts. Lepape was famous for his contributions to Vogue magazine. By 1920 Lepape was at the very top of his profession. His work includes illustrations for the houses of Worth, Lanvin, Paquin, Doucet, Beer among others, in addition to a cover work for Harpers Bazaar and the first cover for Vogue Magazine (Oct.1916, English edition). Lepape had numerous commissions for fur, perfume and other luxury goods producers, illustrations for theatre programs (particularly for the Ballets Russes), costume and set designs for Marcel L’Herbier and a series of posters for Galeries Lafayette. Hence, the accomplishments of Lepape are an arm long and worth noting.

Business Cards
Designing my own business card was enjoyable. I wanted a card that had a classy look. I didn't want a lot of design elements--keeping it sleek and minimal in design. I believe I achieved my goal.

Graphic Design Basics - Bookcover Process
This was the first assignment given, and the challenge was to redesign our text book cover using the theme of the book as our point of inspiration. The process was interesting in that it took many edits before I finally had the end product.
